Özet
The proton precession magnetometer measures the magnitude of the total magnetic field using precession principle of nucleus as a scalar magnetometer. This paper describes the construction of a proton precession magnetometer sensor for the measurement of geomagnetic field, the acquisition of approximately 22 hour measurement at Kandilli Observatory, and the comparison of the results with data of the Iznik Observatory. The sensor includes two solenoid coils which were wound with a special mechanism and kerosene as proton-rich fluid inside it. After the measurement, the sensor does not generate a very strong signal, but it produces satisfying data compared to the data generated by a professionally used sensor.
