Özet
This study explores the utilization of low voltage DC (LVDC) distribution systems as replacements for AC networks, proposing that such systems could streamline energy distribution by eliminating redundant conversion steps. The study presents a cost/benefit analysis for a point-to-point LVDC distribution network compared against a low-voltage conventional AC distribution network. Net present value method is used to assess the profitability of a representative AC and a DC grid. The future of LVDC systems appears promising, contingent upon advances in the efficiency and durability of power electronic converters, which are pivotal in reducing investment costs and improving operational performance.
