Özet

Over the past decade, a huge transition from conventional railway signaling systems to modern, communication-based signaling systems has taken place in the railway industry. Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) is a modern communication-based system that uses radio communication to provide timely and accurate information on train control. Today, CBTC is the choice of mass-transit railway operators with more than one hundred systems installed around the world.This paper gives a summarized description for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) which is used in all city applications including metro especially in Marmaray, as well as automation levels used mainly in urban transit systems which are called Grade of Automation (GoA).In this study, the Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) used in GoA technologies are examined in detail. A case study from Marmaray line is given for ATS system functions to recover from a disturbance in different operating modes.
