Özet
This study investigates the relationship between thermal comfort and heat stress, focusing on the temperature, mean radiant temperature (MRT), humidity, and the universal thermal climate index (UTCI). Through the study, we elucidate the significance of MRT and humidity in shaping perceived comfort levels, alongside the utility of UTCI as a comprehensive metric for assessing thermal stress. Here, we presented a few instances of extreme heat stress observed in the United States and India. Our findings underscore the importance of considering multiple environmental factors, including aerosols in mitigating the impacts of heat stress on human health and well-being. We advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration to develop evidence-based strategies for creating resilient and sustainable urban environments in the face of climate change.
