Özet

The interaction of a 2-D wake with a blunt leading edge is investigated numerically. The inherent instability of the shear layer generated by the flow past a trailingedge, together with the upstream influence of an impingment leading edge, sustained the formation of coherent wake vortices. Simulation of the successive wake vortices impinging upon a leading edge was achieved by a numerical scheme based on a Discrete Vortex Method. The ordered vortex patterns of the incident wake were related to the induced pressure fields along the surface of the leading edge. The computed results of flow patterns, instantaneous pressures and induced forces show a good agreement with the experimental observations.
