N2 - In the present work, thermal decomposition behavior of cerium (III) acetate hydrate (Ce(CH3CO2)3.1.5H2O) was carried out by using thermal analysis techniques (TG-DTA, DSC) and in-situ High Temperature FTIR Spectroscopy technique. The obtained FTIR results were combined with the results of performed TG/DTA and DSC experiments in the present work and the literature data. A good agreement between the thermal analyses and FTIR results and possible decomposition mechanism is discussed.
