Özet
As the demand for energy storage solutions that are both efficient and environmentally friendly increases globally, researchers are investigating the potential of using biomass-derived polymers in batteries. This chapter presents a comprehensive overview of different biomass sources—including alginate, cellulose, chitosan, and lignin—and their applications in batteries. The benefits of using biomass-derived polymers, such as their renewable nature and unique material properties, are discussed. These polymers also have a positive impact on the environment and are biodegradable, making them a promising option for reducing the ecological impact of conventional synthetic polymers. The chapter also addresses challenges related to the variability of materials and production methods, stressing the need for standardization and optimization. In addition, this chapter highlights the potential of biomass-derived polymers in shaping the future of sustainable energy storage technologies, along with suggestions for future research directions.
