abstract = "Although there is a growing literature on communication behavior, there seems to be few empirical studies related to the subject in project-based industries such as construction. For this reason, this paper aims to explore and compare the communication behavior styles of construction personnel. The study focused on the influence of contextual variables and self-construals on communication styles in the Turkish construction industry, drawing on the data provided by a study of 92 construction professionals. A significant positive relationship emerges between interdependent self-construal and use of communication styles. Results also indicate significant differences in terms of age. Implications of the results are discussed.",
