Özet
In this work, a novel local bit allocation method based on attention level and distortion sensibility is developed for the JPEG2000 encoder. The Distortion Weight Map (DWM) is obtained by applying Texture-Edge rectification to Mean Fixation Duration Map (MFDM) that is formed by eye tracking experiments on voluntary test subjects. The rectification performed is based on the assumption that human eye is more sensible to the distortion in the edges than the distortion around the texture areas. The Quantization Step Sizes of code-blocks are adjusted in JPEG2000 by using DWM. Evaluation subjects and ITU-R MOS metric are used for evaluating the qualities of the decoded images. Higher MOS scores are obtained on reconstructed test images when bit allocation is based on Texture-Edge rectified MFDM than when it is based on the PCRD optimization method or on saliency map.
