Özet

Linear power flow models for distribution systems are widely used in optimization problems but their effectiveness has not been investigated thoroughly. This paper investigates the effectiveness of two commonly used linear feeder models used in optimization methods, in particular in Volt/Var optimization problems: linearized Backward-Forward based model and the Nodal based model. Tests performed on the three test systems - IEEE 13, 34 and 123 node test systems- illustrate the limitations of these linear models.
