Özet
The increasing use of renewable energy sources in electricity generation is progressively changing the characteristics of existing electrical power systems and their responses to disturbances. This is attributed to the stochastic production characteristics of renewable energy sources and their use of different technological infrastructures. An increased presence of these novel energy conversion units may reduce the system's per-unit inertia, potentially causing undesirable frequency deviations or oscillations. This study delves into the modeling of wind turbine (WT) generators that can offer inertial response and assessing their impact on the primary frequency response of the power system. We examined various scenarios for a 9-bus test system integrated with WT generator units, showcasing the importance of inertial response, and emphasizing the need for coordination with synchronous generators to maintain frequency stability.
