Özet

Marine outfall is the most common method for disposal of brine which is the concentrated reject from desalination plants. This waste is harmful for the receiving marine environment because of its high salinity and chemical content. In order to develop techniques to reduce these adverse effects, it is important to understand behaviour of this waste in the marine environment. In this study, results of some experiments dealing with vertical mixing of a dense saline layer under wave conditions are presented.
