N2 - Solar energy has been tried to be exploited more extensively due to the need of more economic and sustainable energy resources. In this context, photovoltaic (PV) technology is based on conversion of solar energy into the electricity, using state-of-the-art semiconductor materials. In this study, an economic feasibility analysis of a grid-connected utility scale PV system is conducted for a facility located in Adana, Turkey. Many parameters of the system design are uncertain. For this reason, a risk analysis of the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) of this system is conducted based on the Monte Carlo simulation. Simulations were conducted for a distribution of each of the annual insolation, the degradation rate of each system, the real discount rate, and the operations and maintenance costs; and the probability that the LCOE will be positive was estimated.
