Özet
The steel base plates including various types and different number of mounting holes are used in the steel structure in order to transfer the loads from the column to the base. Because of the importance of these members in terms of strength, particularly in an earthquake, the design of them should be precisely considered. In order to provide a flawless welding process, the assembly of the column-base plate is produced in the factory as a single member. In site, the anchor rods embedded in the concrete base and the mounting holes in this assembly must overlap. Under various effects not desired, the anchor rods may be misaligned even if a template is used during the fixing of these rods. This type of problems is frequently managed by changing the geometry of holes without any analysis due to the cost and time issues of the construction. In this work, the effect of unanticipated geometrical change of mounting holes on the stress distribution is investigated by the finite element method. In order to verify the model developed for finite element model, an experiment of a shake table was also performed.
