Abstract

In this paper, the effect of steel fiber reinforcement and polymer modification on the Young's modulus of lightweight concrete aggregates is investigated. Through experimental measurements, composite property models that best describe the mixtures in terms of the properties and volume fractions of their constituents are identified. The relationship between various composite properties and the mixtures used to produce the lightweight concrete are also explored qualitatively.
