Women in engineering education in Turkey

Abstract

The factors influencing the female participation in engineering education in Turkey are discussed. One of the main factors found out to affect the choice of engineering as a profession, is the interest in engineering. The role of the leading people to have its own influences on the decision regarding the engineering profession. It is suggested that women engineers responsibility must be increased in order to increase the number of girls wishing to become engineer.
