Abstract
A theory to determine wave forces and moments is presented for the diffraction of a progressive plane wave in finite depth water, incident on a fixed, partially immersed circular compound cylinder. Interior and exterior solutions are expanded into series of eigenfunctions in order to solve the problem and interior solutions are next matched with exterior solutions, so that the continuity of mass flux and pressure are satisfied. Numerical results are presented in the form of graphs. (A)
