Abstract

This paper is concerned with the application of symbolic algebra tools to various aspects of the pole assignment problem. In particular, the impact of parameter uncertainties on the system controllability property, on the problem of pole-spread in the complex plane, and on some well established state-feedback algorithms is examined. The general parametric form of the state-feedback compensator is also developed.
