Abstract

Verification activities have a very important role in software development process, especially in safety critical software such as airborne systems. Test processes have a continuity within the software development cycle. For this reason, tests are automated as much as possible to save time and resources. Automation of visual verification is of paramount importance as it covers a significant part of software tests. The aim of this study is to design an automated visual verification system for cockpit display software tests. To achieve this goal, we develop methods for different verification types such as text, color, font size, and object verification. Experiments are performed on a cockpit display simulation software. Detailed information about the experimental setup is given and the results are discussed.
