Abstract
As eVTOL aircraft advance toward commercialization, maintaining operational sustainability under heavy payloads is a significant challenge. This chapter addresses this by developing and validating a high-voltage battery pack model based on an R-C framework tailored for the NMC-700-112 lithium-ion cell. It explores advanced SOC estimation using the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and examines how real-world mission profiles impact battery performance. The findings provide key insights into eVTOL feasibility for future urban air mobility, especially regarding payload capacity and sustainable operations.
