Funding
The first and second International Mineral Processing Symposia (IMPS) were held in Izmir (Turkey) in 1986 and 1988 under the sponsorship of the Dokuz Eylul University. At the end of the second IMPS, it was decided to convene the third IMPS in Istanbul under the auspices of the Mining Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University in collaboration with the Middle East Technical University, the Hacettepe and Dokuz Eylul Universities, the Mining Development Foundation of Turkey, the Mineral Research Exploration Institute-Turkey, the Turkish Chambers of Mining Engineers and the Society of Ore Preparation and Beneficiation.
