Abstract
Rapid advances in information and communication technologies have brought about significant developments in the role and functions of base stations in the telecommunications sector. The transformation of traditional base stations from their standard structures to dynamic and intelligent structures through artificial intelligence applications has brought about a variety of different technologies. This article focuses on AI-enabled digital twins, a prominent technology. The concept of digital twins is explained, and studies in literature are summarized. The advantages and disadvantages of using AI in GSM base stations are examined, and the potential benefits of integrating this concept into digital twins are explained. This article provides an overview of the use of AI-enabled digital twins for predictive maintenance in base stations. The article aims to examine in detail how AI technologies can be used in base stations and the role of the digital twin concept in this area, exploring the potential of this technology and reviewing its applications in the telecommunications field.
