Abstract

In this study, the travel times of the crests of tsunamis created by a submarine mass failure that is settled at the bottom of the northeastern Sea of Marmara are taken into account using a hybrid method comprising both analytical and numerical methodologies. Tsunami amplitudes in the deep water are obtained analytically up to the shallow water boundary, where the time-series representing the tsunami amplitudes are obtained analytically. The outputs of the analytical solutions in the common boundary are the inputs for the shallow water, which is modeled numerically by the finite-element method(TELEMAC).
