Abstract

The electrooxidation of D-glucose on Pd-based modified electrodes was investigated. The adsorption of Cu, Bi, Pb, Cd, Tl metals on Pd electrodes made it possible to prepare modified Pd electrodes with different coverages and to characterize them voltammetrically. Such modified electrodes had electrocatalytic properties for D.glucose oxidation different from those of the unmodified Pd electrode. On the other hand, Pd-Au alloys with different surface compositions were prepared by electrochemical and metallurgic methods and the catalytic activities of these alloys were also investigated, for D-glucose oxidation. No synergistic effect was seen.
