Abstract

The electrooxidation of glucose on smooth Pd in alkaline medium has been studied by electrochemical and polarimetric techniques. During the polarimetric experiments evolution of the specific rotation angle is investigated as a function of time, OH- concentration and the temperature. In order to determine the kinetic parameters (effect of sweep rate, effect of temperature, order of reaction, etc.), an electrochemical systematic study is realised. Reaction mechanisms are suggested which take into account these results.
