Abstract
Hydrogen peroxide is the most commonly used bleaching agent for all natural fibres of vegetable or animal origin. It offers itself for application in a great variety of processing methods, at the same time offering economic and ecological advantages. It is the most frequently employed bleaching chemical in the world. In this study, various recipes of hydrogen peroxide bleaching are applied to the knitted cotton fabric samples. After the grey knitted fabrics are bleached, these are coloured by using reactive dyestuff. Bleached samples and dyed samples are measured by using Datacolor-Spectroflash 500. The effect of whiteness on chromaticity values is investigated.
