Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of TiO2 + MnO2 and MgO + Cr2O3 additions on the wear resistance of alumina based ceramic nozzles sintered at 1550°C for 1 h. Wear performance of the nozzles was determined by recording their weight loss during electrostatic enameled coating process. When compared to pure alumina nozzles, 0.5% MgO + 1.2% Cr2O3 addition improved the wear resistance by about 35%.
