Abstract
Our work concerns an observer-based controller design for networked systems with random transmission delays and packet dropouts. It compares the performance of closed-loop networked control systems (NCSs) in two different models. In the first model, the observer is considered at the system side and in the second model, it is considered at the controller side. The random delays and packet dropouts are modelled as an independent Bernoulli distributed white sequence in both models. The mentioned observer-based controller renders the closed-loop NCS exponentially mean-square stable (EMSS) by applying the Lyapunov stability method and achieving sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the theoretical outcomes in both mentioned models.
