Abstract
Computer technology has facilitated the versatility of flat knitting machines to the extent that they can be used to produce virtually and type of fabric. This article looks at the latest generation of flat knitting machines from Stoll, Universal and Protti, and discusses the innovations, technology and advantages connected with each system, concluding that V-bed flat knitting machinery is probably the most advanced.
