Abstract

In situ uniaxial compression experiments on Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 were carried out using time-of-flight neutron diffraction. Texture and strain analysis and the ferroelastic behavior of the ceramics were observed in PZT's near the edge of the morphotropic phase boundary. Multiphase Rietveld analysis yieled anisotropic lattice strain evolution curves in directions parallel and perpendicular to the loading axis for both phases.
