Abstract

Turkey has large reserves of high-quality industrial and ore minerals. The value of mineral resources produced each year amounts to approximately 2.5 billion US-S. 85 % of all mineral reserves are government-owned. Every year 580 million US-$ worth of minerals are exported, 41.8 % of which are industrial minerals. The main exports ore bore minerals followed by marble products. European Union countries are the main export destinations. Turkey is a country in which international and renowned mining firms are happy to invest.
