Abstract

4,4′ Azobis (4-cyano3-thiophenemethyl pentanate (ACTMP) was synthesized from 3-Thiophenemethanol and 4,4′-Azobis (4-cyanopentanoyl chloride). ACTMP was further used in the synthesis of polystyrene with thiophene terminal groups (TPSt) at both ends. Conducting block copolymers of TPSt and pyrrole (TPSt/PPy) were electrochemically prepared using several supporting electrolytes. Characterization of these block copolymers were performed.
