N2 - Managing the verification of primarily design & installation projects for ship machinery systems is one of the crucial stages in shipbuilding process. Especially, the design of operator-system interfaces such as remote controls, displays, alarms, workstations, and labels makes required a high level of technical expertise and systematic control. This paper focuses on structuring Ship Design Project Approval Mechanism (SDPAM) based on Fuzzy Axiomatic Design (FAD) methodology towards system design of relevant interfaces on engine room control consol. General characteristics, accessibility, operational requirements, and ambient environment are guided as hard constraints for this complex problem. Hence, the proposed systematic requires performance assessment using fuzzy values. The outcomes of this study originally contribute the existing approval procedures of classification societies for shipbuilding projects.
