Abstract

In this paper, due to optimum finite time and frequency support feature of discrete prolate spheroidal wave functions (DPSWF), we propose a Slepian (originally known as DPSWF) based channel interpolator for LTE uplink systems in high speed environments. The proposed channel interpolator is applied to recover the time variation of channel between training symbols within two consecutive slots in a single subframe. The performance of the proposed interpolator is compared with polynomial interpolator whose order is adjusted to achieve best fit under particular user mobilities.
