Abstract

In this study, it is investigated the transient and dynamic performance of a superconducting synchronous generator which its excitation is controlled by self-tuning stabiliser. These performances are simulated for the case of the singly screened generator. In the proposed approach, the stabiliser is designed using parameters of the ARMA model that are estimated using recursive least squares algorithm by means of input-output data of the machine every sampling time. The characteristic of the proposed self-tuning stabiliser is the performance index for the machine consists of the machine output, its first derivative and its second derivative and the machine input.
