Abstract

A new approach of self-tuning control scheme to enhancement the stability on the multimachine power system is presented in this paper. The dynamic performance of each synchronous machine in the multimachine power system is described by a discrete time model for the purpose of self-tuning stabiliser. The stabiliser is designed using parameters of this model that are estimated every sampling time depending on the input-output data of the each machine in the system. In the proposed approach, the performance index for the each machine consists of the machine output, its first derivative and its second derivative and the machine input. The performance of every machine controlled with self tuning stabilisers in multimachine power system is investigated under the violent faulted conditions.
