Abstract
A potential solution through the second-order is presented for the radiation problem of an oscillating vertical circular cylinder in the free surface. The related boundary value problems of the first - and the second-order are solved by matching the inner and the outer solutions. It is shown that the solutions for the second-order problem can be derived in the same manner as the first-order theory.
