This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. Post-publication, an investigation conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team, prompted by a PubPeer post identified concerns around the authenticity of the following figure:Fig. 6. XRD patterns of a) Fe3O4 NPs; b) Fe3O4/SiO2-NH2@CS NPs; and c) Fe3O4/SiO2-NH2@CS/Pd NPs. Fig. 6. XRD patterns of a) Fe3O4 NPs; b) Fe3O4/SiO2-NH2@CS NPs; and c) Fe3O4/SiO2-NH2@CS/Pd NPs. An investigation revealed that the XRD patterns presented in multiple locations within the image exhibited identical noise patterns. Such uniform noise across different samples or experimental conditions indicates potential image manipulation, compromising the integrity and validity of the scientific findings. The authors were requested to provide comment on these concerns. It was felt that the explanations provided were unsatisfactory in resolving these concerns. The Editor has determined that the findings of the article cannot be relied upon, and has decided to retract the article. The authors disagree with the retraction of the article and dispute the grounds for it.
