Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the reliability analysis of the steel frames with semi-rigid beam to column joints under earthquake loads by developing an algorithm composed of common reliability analysis techniques. The rigidity and the strength of the semi-rigid joints are determined according to the component method. The limit state functions are constituted under consideration of Turkish Earthquake Standard, and approximated by the response surface functions. It is also illustrated the effects of semi-rigid behaviour of the beam to column joints on the reliability analysis of the steel frames in seismic zones.
