Abstract
This article studies the dispersion properties of a cylindrical waveguide with a longitudinal slit. Dispersion equations for even and odd H and E modes are derived for arbitrary waveguide parameters. For the case of a narrow slit, the roots of these equations, corresponding to the leaky waves, are derived in an analytical form and the resulting error is estimated.
