Abstract

This paper priorities the operational items of the vessel inspectionquestionnaire (VIQ) within the ship inspection report (SIRE) program that offersadditional safety precaution for oil tankers, combination carriers, shuttletankers, chemical tankers, and gas carriers. Hereby, a decision model on the VIQitems is constructed and solved based on a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(FAHP). Consequently, this study reveals priority results on VIQ items, whichenable a decision aid to relevant shipping executives for good scheduling ofSIRE program.
