Abstract
Energy storage is becoming more crucial for sustainable and safe energy consumption with every passing day. To meet the needs of energy storage devices for many applications, from mobile phones to grid applications, materials are needed to fulfill various requirements. Therefore polymer materials, which provide light, safe, cost-effective, and stable solutions, are attractive to use in electrochemical energy storage systems, especially in batteries. This chapter provides information about the polymer blends used in different components of a battery, with many purposes. Each battery component of anode, cathode, electrolyte, and separator is examined separately that includes polymer blend nanocomposites as binder, active material, electrolyte, electrolyte additive, or separator, or incorporating material.
