Abstract

In the paper, preliminary results on the photoinitiated free radical polymerization using charge transfer (CT) complexes of N-ethoxy-p-cyanopyridinium hexafluorophosphate with aromatic electron donors such as 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene are reported. It is shown that because of its absorption parameters this initiator can be used for long-wave applications. It is found that upon irradiation at room temperature the CT complex initiates the radical polymerization of vinyl monomers (styrene, methyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile).
