Abstract

Poly(methyl methacrylate)s with side-chain and terminal TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyl-1-oxy) units were prepared by irradiating corresponding benzoin-containing polymers at λ = 350 nm in the presence of TEMPO. Application of these polymers in stable-radical-mediated living polymerization caused degradation of precursor polymers.
