Abstract
The photolysis of poly(benzoin acrylate) at γ > 350 nm leads to polymer-bound free radicals which can be oxidized by pyridinium ions. The resulting ionic species are capable of readily initiating the cationic polymerization of cyclohexene oxide (CHO). Photografting of copolymers containing styrene and benzoin acrylate with CHO gave a crosslinked product.
