Abstract

Superconductivity in the presence of anharmonic phonons is studied in the context of strongly correlated electron model. The model is applied to the recently observed superconductivity in borocarbides. Limits on the valency of the Ni ion for the existence of superconductivity is derived and a condition for maximal transition temperature is given.
