Abstract

Agricultural operations includes both continuous and discrete events. Uncertainties and risk factors such as weather conditions, environmental and biological factors can affect agricultural processes. Petri nets are mathematical and graphical modeling tools. Discrete and continuous events in agricultural operations can be modeled by hybrid petri nets. In this paper, models related to agricultural management tasks are developed. Hybrid petri nets were also used to model discrete and continuous cases. These models can be used for five management tasks which are defined in accordance with the ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers) standards.
