Abstract
In this paper, the bit error probability of cooperative selective decode-and-forward (SDF) relaying network with an energy harvesting (EH) relay is derived by a unified analysis for power-splitting (PS), time-switching (TS) and ideal EH protocols in Nakagami-m fading channels. The effects of EH parameters rho and alpha for PS and TS protocols, respectively, on the bit error rate (BER) performance are investigated and the BER results are obtained for the optimum values of alpha and rho with respect to signal-to-noise ratio. The non-EH cooperative SDF and EH dual-hop DF networks are considered for comparison purposes.
