Abstract

It is known that power systems have continuously variable operating conditions because of their nature. Therefore, it is obvious the fact that configuration of adaptive control is effective for adaptation to new conditions in power systems. The study in this paper consists of the simulation of applicability of the Parameter Adaptive Control Method that is known to Multimachine Power System(MMPS) to increase the stability. In Parameter Adaptive Control Method, it is intended to minimize the variances between the outputs of the turbogenerator and the outputs of a predictor. Use of the adaptive control approach to a co-ordinate excitation and governor control on the each of generating units is investigated in this study. Results obtained using a detailed nonlinear simulation are presented which show that the adaptive controller provides good control in a multimachine environment.
