Abstract
The study on the establishment of a method to compute the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a continuous, viscously damped rod is presented. It consists of two parts having different physical parameters. It is found that both the overdamped and the underdamped eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions are computed for two different sets of parameters.
